Following the devastating Winter Storm Uri in 2021, which left millions of Texans without power and running water, triggered thousands of water main and service line failures, and cost the state an estimated $80 to $130 billion, founders Jack Susman and Miller Crosswell knew something had to change. Watching their home state's water systems buckle under pressure was not just alarming; it was personal, and it lit a fire under both of them to go find a better way.
As lifelong Texans, Jack and Miller had watched utilities across the state fight the same losing battle for years, dealing with aging pipes, exploding population growth, shrinking budgets, and weather that keeps getting harder to predict. They knew municipalities did not need more warnings about what could go wrong; they needed real tools to see it coming and act first, so they set out to build exactly that.
Rather than reinvent the wheel, Jack and Miller set out to bring the most advanced technology available to Texas utilities, pairing cutting-edge predictive analytics with deep regional knowledge and relationships built over years in the communities they serve. That combination became Gulf Coast HydroAnalytics, a company purpose-built to serve the state its founders call home.
Today, Gulf Coast HydroAnalytics gives municipalities across Texas and the Gulf Coast the power to know exactly which pipes are at risk, where every capital dollar will do the most good, how to cut water loss, and how to get more life out of infrastructure already in the ground. At the end of the day, this is not about selling technology; it is about giving the communities we grew up with the tools to build water systems that will still be standing strong for the next generation.
